The College Scholarship
Grant Program was originally started in the Cleveland
Municipal School District as an effort to provide
underprivileged high school student-athletes the financial
support necessary for them to realize their dreams of
a college education.
Scholarship recipients are required
to demonstrate financial need, maintain a required GPA,
display outstanding sportsmanship and perform community
service activities. They must also receive letters of
recommendation from teachers, coaches and/or administrators.
Winners receive, in addition to the
financial scholarship, a certificate of achievement
and a sports bag filled with sports merchandise.
